My Story
Kristin is the daughter of Manuel and Debbi Lucero and sister to Phil Lucero. Her passion for dance, movement, and community began at age three when she was enrolled in her first ballet class at Prince Ballet in Santa Fe, NM. She quickly discovered a love for jazz dance and continued her training at multiple studios in Santa Fe, including The Dance Academy and Cathy Roe Productions. In elementary school, Kristin also developed a love for music, singing, and performing, and by seventh grade she auditioned for her first musical at Santa Fe Prep. Performing regularly in dance, musical theater, music, theater, and piano, she cultivated a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Kristin is grateful for her family’s early support, which laid the foundation for her pursuit of a degree in Dance and Theater at Skidmore College in New York.
Education & Experience
Kristin studied Dance and Theater at Skidmore College and, in 2004, moved to New York City to pursue her performing career. While in New York, she trained with renowned dance professionals including Mia Michaels, Robert Battle, and Milton Myers, among others. Over the course of three years, Kristin performed and choreographed in a variety of productions, gaining extensive experience in both performance and creative development. Kristin was a soloist for Robert Battle and was also accepted into Mia Michaels Raw.
Here & Now
Since returning to New Mexico in 2007, Kristin has continued to explore her love of dance through training, performance, choreography, and teaching.
